Christmas Hamper Ideas for Dad

Dads can be difficult to buy for. Most people I know find it challenging to find Christmas gifts for their dads that are not “ordinary”. We’d all like to give our dads a Christmas gift that is unusual, fun and personal for him, rather than the generic socks or tie. Gift hampers are a great solution because you can personalise them. Even if the basic hamper is pre-made, you can add things to it that make it personal for your dad.

For the cooking dad, for example, you could use a wok for your hamper, instead of a basket, and you could include a recipe book, and some fun gimmick cooking gadgets or a funny apron. You could even include tickets for a food event, or cooking classes!

If your dad is into sport, add a baseball cap or key-chain, or other merchandise from his favourite team, to the hamper. You could also include the beer and snacks he likes when he watches a game, and of course, tickets – tuck them into the cap, or wrap them in a t-shirt, so that it’s a surprise when he opens it.

For the gardening dad, a gardening tool box or apron filled with goodies is a great gift. Make your gift hamper extra special by including seeds for plants you know he likes but doesn't have yet, or perhaps a cute or fun garden ornament or sign. Nestle the gardening things amongst the rest of the hamper, or bury them so that they’re a lovely surprise when he digs into the gift hamper.

Gift hampers are one of the most versatile and fun Christmas gift ideas since the potential for personalising them and making them unique is infinite. Adding books, puzzles, recipes, accessories, gadgets, and funny gag gifts make it an extra special treat.
